PRESS: National Golden Week twinkled with a little more magic this year, with thousands of people from mainland China choosing to celebrate the national holiday at Hong Kong Disneyland for the first-ever Disney's Halloween.
Guests from all around mainland China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, Shenzhen and Toishan, dressed up in their best Halloween costumes to share in the fun of the month-long "spook-tacular" special event.
"There is such a buzz about Hong Kong Disneyland at the moment," said Siu Ping-Jin from Beijing who was visiting the park with her boyfriend. "We could feel the spirit of Halloween as soon as we walked through the gates."

Susan Chan, Director of Publicity, Hong Kong Disneyland said "We are delighted that so many visitors from mainland China were able to see Hong Kong Disneyland come alive with the spirit of Halloween."
"We are thrilled to be joining our fellow Disneyland sister parks in continuing the longstanding tradition of Disney's Halloween so that our guests can delight in the family-friendly fun that this special season has to offer."
Disney's Halloween, which is included with regular admission to Hong Kong Disneyland, features an all new "happily haunted" parade float which winds its way through the park as part of the daily Halloween Costume Mini-Parade.
Guests wishing to join Mickey Mouse and the gang in the dress-up fun can star in the Halloween Costume Mini-Parade, along with the Hong Kong Disneyland Marching Band and Hong Kong Disneyland Dancers who will be dazzling crowds in new Halloween costumes.
"I'm here with my little girl and she is so excited about the Halloween Costume Mini-Parade and can't wait to be a part of it," said Mrs Shao of her six year-old daughter from Wenzhou.
The Halloween happenings, which run from September 30 through October 31, bring some of Disney's most notorious villains to Hong Kong Disneyland for the very first time. Villains including Cruella De Vil, Captain Hook, and Jafar, who have temporarily taken over the Opera House, will meet and greet guests daring enough to enter the "Villains Lair".

"My favorite Disney villain is Captain Hook from Peter Pan and I'm thrilled I got to meet him face-to-face in the Villains' Lair," said Zhou Hui-Xia from Zhejiang.
Guests walking towards the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle were blown away by a giant "Mick-O-Lantern" which features the familiar smiling face of Mickey Mouse superimposed on a giant Jack-O-Lantern with two pumpkins forming his famous ears.
"I am visiting the Park with my family, and my six year-old daughter was so excited to see the giant Mick-O-Lantern. She said it was the biggest Mickey she has ever seen," said Zhao Huang from Beijing.
Other spooky activities for guests during Disney's Halloween include night-time special lighting effects, Halloween-themed decorations spookily scattered throughout Main Street, U.S.A., special Halloween menus and merchandise, opportunities to trick-or-treat around the park with "Mickey's Halloween Treat" and "Kid Zones" where kids can create Halloween-themed crafts.
Guests eager to glimpse some of the Halloween magic they can experience during Disney's Halloween can visit online where they can "virtually" discover all of the family-friendly festivities happening throughout the month. From meeting the loveable Disney characters in their adorable new costumes to checking out the whimsical gifts and goodies in store, this virtual tour is a must for planning the ultimate "trick-or-treat" experience!
Fun features include interactive games to discover the Disney Villains who have made their debut at Hong Kong Disneyland especially for Disney's Halloween. Downloadable "gifts" will also be awarded to visitors who help Mickey find nine pieces of candy throughout the mini-site and include a colorful spooky photo frame, a magical pumpkin mask and a Mickey's bat mask, and a super cute Mickey-ear hat!
