HKDL just keeps on giving, decking out The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay with a IASW mural!
NB: It's another press release!
Hong Kong (August 15, 2008)
Hong Kong Disneyland today donated a set of “it’s a small world” murals to The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay in Hong Kong. Dave Vermeulen, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland (second from right) and Jasmine Law, Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador (first from left) joined the unveiling ceremony today, together with Anthony Wu Ting-yuk, Chairman of Hospital Authority (second from left) and Dr. Lawrence Lai, Cluster Chief Executive, Hong Kong West Cluster (first from right).
The donation of the murals is part of Disney’s global celebration of the opening of the “it’s a small world” attraction in Hong Kong. The murals depict children in national costumes holding hands to promote messages of happiness, friendship and global harmony.
In a spirit befitting the theme of “it’s a small world”, Disney VoluntEARS from five Disney theme parks around the world, including Hong Kong Disneyland, created the murals. The murals from overseas theme parks were then shipped to Hong Kong and together with the one painted by Disney VoluntEARS in Hong Kong, will be housed at The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay. The Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital at Sandy Bay is a renowned centre for the treatment of paediatric orthopaedic problems such as scoliosis, spinal deformities and cerebral palsy as well as providing treatment for children with neuro-developmental disorders and, neurological and degenerative diseases. It also serves as a training centre for local and overseas orthopaedic surgeons, paediatric neurologist, and developmental paediatricians.
