NB: This is a press release made pretty by some HKDL Source magic weaving...
Hong Kong (February 7, 2008) Hong Kong Disneyland today celebrates the auspicious start of the Year of the Mouse with two special events.
Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador Jasmine Law kicked off the celebration by presenting lifetime passes to Hong Kong’s first Year of the Mouse baby boy born to the Lo family and baby girl born to the Ng family. The gifts entitle the children to free admission at Hong Kong Disneyland and other Disney’s theme parks in the U.S. and Paris. The children’s parents each also received a 10-year complimentary pass.
Dressed in a specially designed traditional Chinese jacket, Executive Vice President and Managing Director Bill Ernest officiated the kick-off of the special Chinese New Year dragon dance performance, “Rhythm of Life: Dragon Procession”. He also delivered celebratory greetings to Guests, media representatives and citizens of Hong Kong with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
”Kung Hei Fat Choy! It’s a great pleasure for everyone here at the Resort to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Mouse with our Guests.” Ernest said. ”The Year of the Mouse is a very special time for Hong Kong Disneyland and Mickey Mouse and we have kicked off the festivities with a specially created Dragon Procession. We were also delighted to commemorate the lunar new year by welcoming the first ‘Mouse’ baby boy and baby girl early this morning. We would like to thank you for your continuous support and we hope that all our Guests will enjoy the magical Chinese New Year celebrations here at Hong Kong Disneyland, the home of Mickey and his friends.”
Hong Kong Disneyland has designated February 7 to 13 as Special Days during which park operating hours will be extended to 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. As Special Days tickets are required for admission during that period, the Park encourages Guests to purchase tickets in advance.
