It's a blast from the past, as we dig into the archives and find some Opening Celebration videos by Jacky Cheung, as well as kellyjackie and Kelly Chen. We are just in a audio/visual mood this weekend, and we can't be stopped.
We decided that if other major Disney fan sites can take a regular look at the past, then we can too! Of course, we don't have as much past to look at, so we'll take our small trip back to 2005, when our fair park was just opening up. Jacky Cheung had been named the spokesperson for the park, and there was a big promotional push for the first new Disney Resort since Disneyland Paris opened in 1992.
At the time of opening, a Celebration CD was released, The Grand Opening Celebration Album. To date, this is the only official CD associated with the theme park, and it doesn't contain any music from the park itself. For the most part, it features reworked versions of classic Disney tunes, usually sung in Chinese. The first and last songs on the CD are the official opening theme tune for the park, "Let the Wonder Soar", performed by Jacky Cheung in Cantonese and Mandarin. Not exactly sure what it is about, but it all sounds fairly positive though. The only other original song on the CD is Kellyjackie and Kelly Chen's "He Invites Me to Disneyland".
Those of you who managed to get the original release of the CD, with the limited edition bonus DVD; map and bag, will know that there were music videos to go with these songs. For those of you that didn't, we present them to you below and on our YouTube Channel.
