The environmentally conscious Hong Kong Disneyland has started a campaign to promote awareness of the need to switch off the engines of cars while idle. Is it really that big a problem? Well, it does involve stickers!

Hong Kong (October 17, 2007) Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) today launches a public awareness campaign encouraging drivers to switch off idling vehicle engines to help improve roadside air quality. Cars, coaches and trucks driving into the car parks of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will be given a windscreen sticker featuring Mickey, Minnie and Donald in an appeal for drivers to switch off their engines while waiting. The campaign targets HKDL’s Guests, Cast Members and business partners who will in turn spread the message in the community as their vehicles carry the message around town.
“As a member of the Hong Kong community, Hong Kong Disneyland is keen to play a part in promoting public awareness of environmental protection. In the weeks and months to come, Mickey, Minnie and Donald will carry the message across the city to remind drivers that they can help improve our air quality by simply switching off idling engines,” said Jasmine Law, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Ambassador.
“Environmental protection will not succeed without the concerted effort of every individual in the community. Every little bit counts!”, she added.
HKDL plans to distribute 20,000 stickers in the initial phase of the campaign.
