As part of his business trip to Shanghai, Disney CEO Robert Iger has visited Hong Kong Disneyland and praised its importance in the area.
Iger travelled outside of his previously arranged schedule to praise the staff of Hong Kong Disneyland. Speaking to the press this week, he commented: "Hong Kong Disneyland is a key driver of our strategy to build the Disney brand and our businesses in this important region...The quality and universal appeal of Hong Kong points to the great potential of this asset over the long term."
Iger is in Shanghai to promote the opening of the stage version of Disney's smash-hit musical, The Lion King.
Rumours of a Shanghai Disneyland Park persist, with Disney Group Chairman George Mitchell previously stating that talks had been underway with Shanghai.
