In case you didn't know already, Hong Kong Disneyland is celebrating Chinese New Year all this month. Disney's community service program, the VoluntEARS , were out in force with the Tung Chung community to ring in the Year of the Pig.
PRESS RELEASE (10 Feb, 2007) Fifty Disney VoluntEARS today celebrated the soon to come Chinese New Year with seventy young children from the Tung Chung community, the neighborhood of Hong Kong Disneyland. VoluntEARS introduced the art of towel folding to the children, and taught them to make their own unique towel pigs to welcome the ‘Magical Year of the Pig’.
About 300 towel pigs in different colors and looks were made with the creativity of children and VoluntEARS. The fun-filled atmosphere was even merrier with the surprise visit by our special guests Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Children and their parents had a chance to take pictures with their beloved Disney friends.

Jasmine Law, 2007 Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador said, ‘We are happy to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our good neighbor with a touch of Disney magic and fun. The children love their towel pig. I wish it can bring them good luck in the “Year of the Pig”’.
Today’s program was held at the Po On Commercial Association Wan Ho Kan Primary School in Tung Chung. It is one of our good neighborhood community outreach programs which helped further strengthen the relationship and communications between Hong Kong Disneyland and its neighborhood.
